The Lord has blessed me with many opportunities to discuss marriage with couples before and after their wedding. Each study has brought up interesting topics that have caused me to search God’s word for answers. I suspect that this will continue as the years progress. While I prefer to teach this material face-to-face, to address each couple’s unique questions and concerns, I was faced with the need to teach some via correspondence. As a result, I expanded my notes into a small book to reach a larger audience.
As hard as I have worked on this book, I am sure that it will not be able to answer all of your questions. Every couple I studied with presented a wide variety of questions. Some questions did not surface until a chance comment led to a new thought. I encourage you to have a pad of paper and a pencil as you read this material. Jot down all the questions you have as they occur to you. As you progress through the book, you may find that I have an answer to some of your questions. If I have not addressed your concerns, contact me for more information. Your question may help another couple in a future version of this book. As you will soon see, I am willing to discuss all questions, even embarrassing personal ones.
If you have the time and are so motivated, I will happily talk to you face-to-face. There is no substitute for a heart-to-heart talk, especially when you are preparing to make a lifelong commitment to someone else.
